CHI Brought 3D Photogrammetry to a Diego Rivera Mural

The CHI team was hired to apply photogrammetry to capture a huge Diego Rivera mural at City College of San Francisco. The goal was to create a collection of data-rich 3D images, setting a data baseline against which future images can be compared to better understand and address any changes in the mural's condition. When the conservators at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum received a grant from the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training (NCPTT), they brought in CHI to consult. The CHI team helped them launch their digital imaging program, advising on equipment and teaching the museum staff how to apply 3D digital photographic technologies, RTI and photogrammetry.
